Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) platform

The PINS Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) platform is a comprehensive neuromodulation solution designed for the treatment of motor symptoms associated with Parkinson’s disease.
The system delivers pulsed electrical stimulation in specific areas of the brain, creating a small but very precise energy field that helps control abnormal brain activity.
Complete System
The PINS DBS platform includes:
- Implantable pulse generators (IPG): available in non-rechargeable options with single and dual channel configurations, as well as a rechargeable option with a longevity of over 10 years. All PINS IPGs can act like current or voltage generators to ensure stable performance; the case design is intended to enhance biocompatibility and promote patient comfort and seamless integration with the body.
- Leads and extensions
- Clinician programmer
- Patient controller and recharge system
All components are designed to ensure seamless integration and efficient therapy management.
Key Features
- Targeted therapy – Delivers electrical stimulation directly to specific areas of the brain involved in symptoms.
- Adjustable – Doctors can program and fine-tune the stimulation settings without additional surgery.
- Reversible – Unlike lesioning procedures, DBS does not permanently destroy brain tissue. Stimulation can be reduced, changed, or turned off.
- Personalized treatment – Settings can be tailored to each patient’s symptoms and adjusted over time as needs change.
- Can reduce medication burden – Many patients are able to lower their medication doses after successful DBS therapy.
