Nimbus® Large-volume radiofrequency lesioning for advanced pain management
Nimbus® is an advanced radiofrequency ablation (RFA) solution designed to create large, anatomically accurate lesions, improving procedural reliability and long-term pain relief.
When combined with dedicated radiofrequency cannulas and accessories, Nimbus® enables a precise, efficient and reproducible RFA approach, addressing anatomical variability and reducing the risk of technical failure during pain treatment procedures.
System Overview
The Nimbus® RF system consists of:
- Nimbus® expandable multi-tined RF electrode for large-volume monopolar and bipolar lesioning
- Dedicated RF cannulas and accessories, engineered for optimal positioning and energy delivery
Indications
Nimbus® RF is intended for radiofrequency neurotomy procedures for pain management, including:
- Lumbar medial branch radiofrequency ablation
- Sacroiliac joint radiofrequency ablation
- Procedures requiring large and anatomically conforming RF lesions
- Genicular nerves
Clinical Value
- More predictable and durable pain relief
- Improved procedural consistency and safety
- Reduced need for repeat procedures due to missed targets
- Clinically validated large lesion geometry
Key Features
- Large-volume monopolar lesion — 10 x 11 mm with a volume of 601mm³, compared to the 200mm³ volume of the standard monopolar lesion.
- Large-volume bipolar lesion — Designed to create a significantly larger lesion (approximately 30 x 11 mm) than standard RF cannulas, improving target capture and treatment coverage.
- Directional and expandable electrode design — Enables perpendicular or parallel positioning to adapt to different anatomical targets.
- Reduced technical failure rate — Larger lesion size helps overcome anatomical variability and positioning sensitivity.
- Workflow efficiency — Simple technique with reduced procedural time compared to conventional RFA approaches.
